Jens Schlegel serves as the Head of Chemistry, Manufacturing & Controls (CMC) for the new drug substances at FundaMental Pharma.

He is an experienced organic chemist with a broad knowledge and experience in development, scale-up, manufacturing, validation and commercialization of products including the Quality Control and Quality Assurance aspects. He oversees and leads the analytical method development and validation activities for the NCEs. Jens supports CMC regulatory activities for IMPD submissions.

Jens has 26 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Prior to joining Rapid Pharma Development (RPD) as an independent CMC consultant he led the development groups as Head of Chemical Development at Siegfried AG (CH), RohnerChem (CH) and was the Head of Technical Alliance at Tillotts Pharma AG (CH). He was the Head of CMC Global at Phoenixus AG (CH) where he was responsible for the development of new processes for NCEs, drug product formulation development of new medications and the supply chain for commercial products marketed in the US.

Jens holds a Masters Diploma (MSc) and PhD in Chemistry from the University of Ulm, Germany. He studied economics at the Graduate School of Business Administration (GSBA) Zurich, Switzerland.
