Tara Davis serves as the Head of Structural Biology at FundaMental Pharma. She is an experienced structural biologist, biophysicist, and protein biochemist. She is also the founder and principal consultant at TL/DR Consultancy, LLC.
Beyond her advisory background, her 20+ years of experience with high-throughput protein production, structural enablement, and hit-finding workflows uniquely positions her to accelerate drug discovery vizualizing complex macromolecular assemblies, ion channels, and protein-protein interfaces.
Previously, Tara established the protein sciences consulting arm at NanoImaging Services. She grew the business to 20 active projects and delivered multiple high-resolution cryo-EM structures with resolved ligands to 3.3Å or better.
At TLDR Consultancy, she successfully managed 13 projects for 7 clients within her first year, specializing in structurally enabling challenging multiprotein complexes and integral membrane targets.
Her industry career includes leading the HTS structural biology team at Civetta Therapeutics and co-managing multiple crystallographic programs at FORMA Therapeutics. Before that, she spent six years in academia as an NIH-funded, tenure-track Assistant Professor at Drexel University College of Medicine, where she investigated the structure and function of spliceosomal sub-complexes.
Tara holds a B.S. Honors in Biochemistry from The University of Texas at Austin and a Ph.D. in Molecular Biophysics from UT Southwestern Medical Center. She has authored 14 peer-reviewed publications and one solicited review.
