Jing Yan, Dr. rer. nat., serves as Senior Research Director.
In this role, Dr. Yan leads the company’s research on the lead optimization of N/T interface inhibitors as well as all the company`s research on mode of action, target engagement and biomarkers.
Dr. Yan has more than 10 years of research experience in neuroscience with a vast expertise in molecular & cellular biology, as well as animal models of neurodegenerative diseases, especially for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis and Alzheimer Disease. He is the first tauthor of the groundbreaking primary publication on N/T interface inhibitors in Science 2020. Dr. Yan was working as an “Akademischer Rat” at Heidelberg University.
Dr. Yan received his Ph.D. in Neurobiology from Heidelberg University, where he discovered the N/T interface inhibitors together with Prof. Bading. He has won various prestigious prices such as: the Karl-Freudenberg-Preis, the Ruprecht-Karls-Preis, and IZN/Chica and Heinz Schaller Young Investigator Neuroscience Award. Dr. Yan holds a Master of Science in Cell, Cellular and Molecular Biology from Shandong University in China.
